Candy Cane Lip Balm

Rosehip & Shea Regenerative Lip Balm"

Why Candy Cane Lip Balm

Create a plumping Lip balm the will make a great Christmas gift for everyone! A lip balm that is perfect for nourishing and moisturizing those winter dry & chapped lips.

Rosehip oil is celebrated for its high concentration of Vitamin A and essential fatty acids, making it the perfect choice for repairing sun-damaged or aging skin. When paired with the high-melt point of Shea butter, it creates a balm that is remarkably smooth with a non-greasy finish.

Lanolin is known for its ability to lock in moisture. It forms a protective barrier on the lips to prevent water loss and keeps your lips hydrated .

Instructions

  1. Melt: Combine the Shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax, and lanolin in a double boiler over low heat.
  2. Stir: Gently stir the mixture for 10-15 minutes until all solids are completely liquefied and the mixture is clear.
  3. Incorporate: Add the castor oil and rosehip seed oil to the melted base, stirring well to ensure a consistent texture.
  4. Cool: Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly for 2-3 minutes (it should still be liquid but not scalding).
  5. Infuse: Whisk in the Vitamin E oil and the Essential oil blend until thoroughly combined.
  6. Pour: Carefully pour the liquid balm into clean tins or tubes while still warm.
  7. Set: Let the balms sit undisturbed at room temperature for 2 hours or until completely firm before capping.
  8. Pro-tip

The "Spoon Test": Before pouring the whole batch, dip a cold metal spoon into the melted mixture and let it set for a minute. This allows you to test the consistency. If it's too soft, add a pinch more beeswax; if it's too hard, add a splash more oil.
